Last wensday, we meet with the Fiat and Abarth general manager for Spain, Antoine Burguiere in an Abarth Event in Marugan airfield, near Madrid. There we talk in deep about the next launch of the italian brand.
Talking about the reports about a new Abarth Panda model equiped with the TwinAir 110HP engine, Burguiere tell us that they are false. Abarth will not launch such a model.
Antonie tell us as well that the rumors, started some weeks ago by british magazine AutoExpress, are wrong, and the Panda will stay with its 85 HP two cilinder engine as the top of the range model, at least for mid term.
We tell him that the report dates back from mid Agoust, when the official press relase of the Panda was launched, and it says that an Abarth Panda "with more than 100 HP" is on the schedule, but after talking about this, we conclude that may be, only may be, Fiat may launch an "Abarth body kit" for the Panda latter on, like the one launched for the Fiat 500, called Fiat 500 "by Abarth".
So, if you are waiting for an Abarth Panda, this is not a lucky day for you.
